Meet Brandon Gagliardi

My name is Brandon Gagliardi, and I’m the owner/operator of Highland Nutrition and Fitness. I started this company to help guide people on their fitness journey, and aid them in becoming the healthiest, fittest version of themselves. I have a BS in Exercise Science from Endicott College, am a Certified Strength and Conditioning Specialist (CSCS) and have 6 years of experience in fitness, training, weight loss and nutrition. Throughout my time in the health and fitness industry, I’ve worked on several aspects of fitness, including nutrition/weight loss, personal training, and strength and conditioning, among others. This has allowed me to become comfortable working with a wide variety of clients with very different goals, from getting into shape after years of a sedentary lifestyle, all the way to prepping for a college sports season or a professional fight, and everything in between. My training philosophy focuses on well-rounded fitness, encompassing strength training, mobility exercises for stability and injury prevention, and cardiovascular conditioning, among other things. I’ve also taken an interest in nutrition from my time as a personal trainer, often directing weight loss programs. I’ve worked with a variety of clients requesting different diet models, so I am comfortable working with many aspects of nutrition. My professional certification (CSCS) also provides a scientific understanding of the various diet plans that I use with clients. Regardless of your current fitness status or your goals going forward, I’m confident I can help you along the way and build a great foundation for a happy, healthy life.

Personal Training

Personal training clients will complete workouts at our Robeson Street location. These workouts will be structured to meet each client’s goals and appropriate training styles. Performance based training will be used for athletes and clients requiring high intensity high intensity strength and conditioning. For clients aiming for general fitness, moderate weights and cross training elements will be used. For clients looking for longevity and health-based training, mobility, balance, and functional exercises can be utilized. These different styles of workouts can also take other variations into account. Workouts can be broken into full body splits, or focus on specific muscle groups or movements per workout. The client’s schedule can also be adjusted for with flexible workout options offered in 30 or 60 minute durations. Virtual workouts via video chat will also be available for those with virus concerns, or if a client is otherwise unable to make it into the gym.

Custom Exercise Programs

Exercise programs will be available for workouts at other gyms. These programs will be customized to each individual and their needs, including general fitness, strength and conditioning, and weight loss, among others. Exercises can be varied according to available equipment, from full gyms to small home setups. This will also allow exercises to be completed that require equipment that isn’t available at our Robeson St, location. Workouts can be broken into full body splits, or focus on specific muscle groups or movements per workout. The workouts can also be adjusted according to the client’s schedule. For some people, 30 minutes per day makes the most sense for their schedule, for others, 2 or 3 long workouts per week is better.

Customized Diet Programs

Tailored diet plans will be designed to suit individual client needs. The programs will focus on general calorie restriction instead of eliminating entire food categories (keto, palo, low fat, etc.). The client’s caloric needs will be calculated and a customized plan will be built that corresponds to their needs. Each meal or snack will consist of certain categories, with each category having several options to choose from. Options for clients with dietary restrictions (kosher, gluten free, nut free, etc.) will be available. Specific food will be advised rather than a list for the client to choose from. Time windows will be given so that the program can best fit the client’s day to day schedule. Variations can be taken into account for scheduling issues (weekdays vs weekend), changes in metabolic need (heavy workouts vs rest days), or to accommodate setbacks (cheat meals, alcohol consumption, etc.).

Generalized Diet Programs

Generalized diet plans will consist of a basic template form with a list of healthy foods to select from. The programs will focus on general calorie restriction instead of eliminating entire food categories (keto, palo, low fat, etc.). The client’s caloric needs will be calculated and a customized plan will be built that corresponds to their needs. Each meal or snack will consist of certain categories, with each category having several options to choose from. Options for clients with dietary restrictions (kosher, gluten free, nut free, etc.) will be available.
